be legalized?

Yes. In order to be enforceable, the signature of the sworn public translator who did the translation, has to be legalized at the Colegio de Traductores Públicos. In the case of the one in the city of Buenos Aires, it is located at 1834 Corrientes St.

Any document which is filed with any Government Agency in Argentina, must be translated into Spanish by a certified/sworn translator registered at the Colegio de Traductores Públicos (Public Translators Association).​

Is the translation done first?

No. The translation is done once the         document has all the necessary stamps
and signatures corresponding to the         relevant authorities and, if applicable, the Apostille.

What is the Apostille?

Answer

It is a French word which means a certification. It is commonly used in English to refer to the legalization of a document for international use under the terms of the 1961 Hague Convention abolishing the requirement of legalization for foreign public document. Documents which have been notarized by a notary public, and certain other documents, and then certified with a conformant apostille are accepted for legal use in all the nations that have signed the Hague Convention.
